Reach for the Light

So this artwork has a lot of meaning in it, and I worked super hard on this. This is most likely one of the most personal things that I have drawn, and I am already weepy about it. So one of my friends is going through a rough time right now. I will not say until that she is ready to talk about it, but I felt like that she needed something to lift up her spirits. She was talking about how she felt the darkness in her closing in, but I told her that she needed to reach for light and not to let it go--and once she would find the light, it would stay with her. I drew her in Princess Serenity's dress from Sailor Moon, since she is a Moonie like me, and put angel wings flying on her back--as if she was reaching for the light up the sky. But, this mainly was to show her that I support her either way--whatever happens that I was there for her to give her light back into her life since she is one of my best friends. For the concept, I heard a song on my iPod from one of my favorite movies, Balto. I know it is a soundtrack song, but it relates to reaching for the light. Conviently, the song is named Reach for the Light by Steve Winwood. I am here for you Alli!
