Hello! I’m here from ProjectComment.
This is a really interesting piece, and speaks a lot of volume to the stories and meaning behind the Legend of Korra series. The poses and expressions are interesting to look at.
Some advice:
Anatomy is the first thing that stands out to me. The arms on Korra are very disproportionate and a little lumpy. The characters faces could also use some work. My best suggestion is to find either reference photos (such as this one: Link), stock photos or take photos yourself of people in the poses you are attempting to draw to see how the body actually moves and is shaped. For the face I suggest adding guide-lines to see what should line up with what. The eyes should be half way between the top of the head and the chin. (here’s a reference image that may help: Link) .
The other thing that caught my eye that could use some work would be the coloring. Try to take a little more time with your coloring and try to give it a more solid look, it’ll look more professional that way. I’d also suggest to add some shading to the images. it’ll help add depth and realism to your image.
I noticed in some of the other comments that you mentioned an attempt at cropping the image with MS Paint, which is what I usually use to crop. But you said you have some issues with it. If you zoom out on the image (bottom right hand corner) where you can see the whole picture, use the select tool to highlight the area you’d like included in the image and hit crop it should be the quickest way to crop it. The top of the image should be brought down a little more and the right side of the image the cropped areas seem a little off. It feels as though we should be able to see more of the image.
Keep pushing yourself, if you ever need help, there are plenty of us at ProjectComment (myself included) and plenty of wonderful tutorials out there. Keep up the great work.
